Aphasia Support

Aphasia Support is a registered charity providing tailored speech and language therapy and long-term support to people with Aphasia, and their carers.

Stage 1: Computer Therapy

Aphasia Support delivers personalised 1:1 speech and language therapy at-home, in residential settings or online.

A qualified Speech and Language Therapist will create a bespoke support plan aimed at meeting personal objectives e.g. speaking, reading, writing or understanding language.

Stage 1 is focused on improving language outcomes through computer therapy. Clients are loaned iPads with pre-installed therapy apps, such as Cuespeak and Tactus Therapy. A trained volunteer will help to deliver this support through regular sessions over a 6-month period, followed by a review.

How to make a referral

Aphasia Support accepts online referrals from healthcare providers, including GP practitioners and qualified Speech and Language Therapists.

The charity also accept self-referrals from people with Aphasia, carers and other organisations.
